The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to significant change across the health care landscape, including right here in the Chippewa Valley. In order to adapt to this ever-changing environment, operate more efficiently, and ensure we are able to thrive for our patients and communities well into the future, we have had to make some very difficult, but necessary decisions.
We regret to inform you that the Women and Infants Center at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital is closed for the foreseeable future. While labor and delivery services and other types of inpatient women and infants care are no longer available at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, there are two important services that remain: pre-natal appointments and childbirth classes.  Expecting moms can still receive pre-natal appointments and attend childbirth classes at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, however, labor and delivery, and other inpatient women and infants care is now entirely offered at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
This decision does not come lightly as we know the incredible reputation HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital and its Women and Infants team have had for providing high-quality, personalized care for patients. However, also know that women and infants in need of this care will be in exceptional hands at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital, which also holds a strong reputation in this community for high-quality, personalized and compassionate care of women and infants. Visit the HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital Women and Infants Center for more information.
Thank you for choosing HSHS for your health care needs, and, for your patience and understanding during this time. We remain fully committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our patients and community as well as providing the highest quality of care to the Chippewa Valley community now and long into the future.
