HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital to host free grief education program October 27

For professionals and anyone experiencing pain and sadness after the death of someone close to them and for their friends and family who wish to help them through their grief, this free event is for you. On Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. until Noon, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital (2661 Co Hwy I.) in McDonald Hall, join Sue and Ken Ripp. The Ripps are longtime Eau Claire residents and will talk about “grieving then, grieving now and finding hope while experiencing loss.”

In July 2013 the Ripp’s 34-year-old son, Christopher, died. During the past five years, the Ripps have shared their journey through grief with numerous groups in the Chippewa Valley. Using their backgrounds in teaching about death and dying, they will share their story of embracing hope while experiencing their journey through grief. Learn how time can heal, how grief can subside and how hope can eventually emerge.

This event is sponsored and funded by the Chippewa County Grief Guidance Team and HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital. For more information call 715-717-7581. Registration will take place at the event at 9:30 a.m.
